About Niv

Niv is a desktop app for Markdown notes, on the Mac today. It works right in a folder of files you own, links one idea to the next, lets you write with other people at the same time, and runs the AI agent you already use.

Who makes it

Niv is made in Florianópolis, Brazil, by GABRIEL ARAUJO RUDY CONSULTORIA EM TECNOLOGIA DA INFORMACAO. It is one product, built for people who want to think, not to maintain a system.

What Niv holds to

Your files are yours.

Every note is a plain .md file in a folder you own. It works offline, the same files open in any editor, and an Obsidian vault opens as it is, links included. If you stop using Niv, your notes stay where they are.

Writing together is free.

Sync across your devices, real-time writing with whoever you invite to a Space, and publishing a note to the web cost nothing.

Bring your own AI.

Niv’s chat runs the agent you already have (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or OpenCode) locally, with your account and your plan. Every action it takes shows up in the conversation.

Where it runs

Niv is on the Mac today. Windows, Linux, iPhone, iPad and Android have a waitlist on the home page.
