# Niv 0.3.69

2026-10-17

- A long note opens and closes with shorter pauses: opening it, from about 2.8 seconds to 1.3, and switching away from it, from about a second in 0.3.68 to under a fifth of a second
- With no note open, Niv no longer keeps your Mac busy redrawing it: the system’s window drawing drops from about half a CPU core to under a tenth, as Home’s did in 0.3.68, and the símbolo breathes a few times, then rests
- When a connection stalls, Niv gives up on a request after 30 seconds to a few minutes and tries again instead of waiting indefinitely; a change that could land twice still waits, so giving up never makes it save twice
- Renaming a note while an earlier rename is still updating its links can no longer write the new name twice into a link
- When updating links after a rename fails, the sync dot no longer keeps breathing as if it were still at work
