# Niv 0.3.71

2026-10-18

- Niv keeps syncing from the menu bar with its window closed
- A sync engine that fails to start waits before trying again
- Home keeps its index: a 25k vault answers 2.4 s sooner at launch
- A first upload resumes after a quit lost the create reply
- A hidden Niv keeps its sync socket instead of reopening it every 26 s
- The 25k graph opens cold 1.6 s sooner, drawn the same
- A hidden Niv rests presence's three-second check once it has left
- A hidden Niv batches its telemetry instead of posting each poll
- A collaborator's edit no longer moves what you're looking at
- A hidden Niv stops waking every two seconds for telemetry, overlaps and heartbeats
- A collaborator's edit in a long note no longer rebuilds every block
