# Keyboard shortcuts

The shortcuts Niv sets up, as they appear in the app. Many are also in the command list: press ⌘O and type `>`.

## On macOS

### Notes and navigation

| Shortcut | What it does                                      |
| -------- | ------------------------------------------------- |
| ⌘O       | Find a note, create one, or type `>` for commands |
| ⌘K       | Search the text of every note                     |
| ⌘N       | New note                                          |
| ⌘T       | New tab                                           |
| ⌘W       | Close tab                                         |
| ⌘F       | Find in the open note                             |
| ⌘⇧T      | Insert a template                                 |

### Window

| Shortcut | What it does                         |
| -------- | ------------------------------------ |
| ⌘B       | Show or hide the sidebar             |
| ⌘I       | Open the AI panel; again to close it |
| ⌘,       | Settings                             |
| ⌘=       | Zoom in                              |
| ⌘-       | Zoom out                             |
| ⌘0       | Reset zoom to 100%                   |
| ⌘⇧W      | Close Space                          |

### In lists and pickers

| Keys | What they do                                          |
| ---- | ----------------------------------------------------- |
| ↑ ↓  | Move through the list                                 |
| ↵    | Open, or choose                                       |
| ⇧↵   | In the ⌘O list: create a note with the name you typed |
| esc  | Close                                                 |

### In a note

| Keys                 | What they do                              |
| -------------------- | ----------------------------------------- |
| `/`                  | Open the slash menu                       |
| Two opening brackets | Link to another note                      |
| ↵ / ⇧↵               | In find (⌘F): next match / previous match |
| ⌘↵                   | In Insert with AI: draft                  |

### On Home

| ⇧↵   | In New note: new line      |

### In the AI chat

| Keys | What they do               |

| ↵    | Send the message           |
| a    | Allow, when the agent asks |
| d    | Deny, when the agent asks  |

### When sync asks about missing notes

| Keys    | What they do             |
| ------- | ------------------------ |
| 1, 2, 3 | Answer the file in front |
