Daily and recurring notes
A recurring note is a note Niv has waiting for you: one a day, a week, a month, or on dates you pick. You choose the template, the folder and the name once.
Recurring notes belong to a Space, so they need a folder that syncs with a Space, and you signed in. See Spaces.
Your daily note
The quickest start is on Home, on the Streak card: Start each day writing.
Pick a template, or leave it blank. See Templates.
Pick the folder the notes go in, and how they're named. If your vault has Obsidian daily notes settings, Niv fills these in from them.
Niv shows what today would create. Choose Start today.

From then on, the Streak card has Today's note. You can also press ⌘O, type > and choose Today's note.
You can have one daily note of your own. To change it, edit it in Settings › Recurring notes.
More recurring notes
Go to Settings › Recurring notes and choose Set up recurring notes. The form reads as a sentence:
One note every day, every week, every month, or on set dates;
for me, people I choose, or everyone in the Space.
For more than one person, choose what exists each time:
One note for each person: everyone writes in their own.
One note for everyone: everyone writes in the same note.
Then pick the template and the folder. The form shows what the next period would create. Choose Start these notes.
Each rule's menu has Edit, Turn off and Remove. Removing a rule stops new notes; the notes it already made stay where they are, with their history.
Notes someone sets up for you
When someone sets up a note for you, Home shows it: "Ana prepared a daily note for you." Nothing is created until you choose Accept. Decline says no. Either way, it stays listed in Settings › Recurring notes.
Who can set up notes for other people is the Space's choice: Owners, or Owners and editors. Only an owner can change it.
When a day ends
If you write late, you can move the end of your day past midnight: Settings › General › Your day ends at. Writing after midnight and before that time counts for the day before, in your streak and calendar.
Notes shared by a group turn over at midnight in the Space's time zone, set in Settings › Recurring notes › Time zone for shared notes.
If a period ends up with two notes
If two notes were made for the same period by the same rule, both show a quiet line: "This may be the same note as …". Niv doesn't change either. Choose Open the other to compare, or Keep both.
